Dear Clients, Colleagues and Friends Updated 23/09/2020
I want to thank you all for helping us to remain Covid free at the practice. We have made significant changes which could only be possible with your cooperation. We understand that not being allowed into the practice with your pet can be difficult for some owners but rest assured it is rarely a problem for your pets. We have conducted many open-air consults for those who need it and will endeavor to continue this while the weather permits.
Social Distancing – these are the watch words for all of us at the moment. There are several members of our team working from home but many of the tasks performed can only be undertaken at the practice. We want to keep all our staff, clients and pets healthy and have put in place strict social distancing measures to try and avoid spreading the virus. This has many challenges in a small building normally bustling with people and pets.
- Our team has been split into small groups or cells within our working area
- PPE is being worn where 2m distance can’t be observed
- Breaks are taken a different times
- Regular hand washing and or glove changes are mandatory
- A barrier has been set up by the side door to help distanced discussions
- Clear signage on procedures is displayed for clients
- We have increased the capacity of our car park to allow space between cars.
Visiting the practice – How you can help
- Where possible only one person should bring the pet to the practice.
- Please wear a mask or face covering.
- When you arrive please leave your pet in the car report to the “shedquarter” when you arrive at the practice.
- Return to your car and a member of the team will come out to greet you in PPE.
- Your pet will be taken from you in the car park and cared for in the practice.
- We will either call you or come and talk to you at a safe distance outside the practice about your pet and their treatment.
- Please pay your bill at the “shedquarters” before leaving the practice.
Consultations – We have the option of video, telephone and in-person consultations so you can still be seen by your vet. Consultations are charged at our normal rates but if your pets condition is deemed urgent and needs to be seen following a video or telephone consult we will not be charging an additional consultation fee at this appointment. We have trialed a bespoke video service but are getting better results using WhatsApp and Facetime.
Pets still need medication and food, to enable us to continue offering this service we would ask you to email orders to firstname.lastname@example.org or order through our website using the form available at http://www.henlowvets.co.uk/online-services/order-repeat-medications. It may take longer than normal to make up prescriptions so please allow 3 working days. To protect our staff we are only taking payments by card over the phone or by bank transfers. We will allocate a 15 minute collection slot, usually between 9-11am or 4-6pm Monday-Friday. When you arrive at the practice please report to the “shedquarters” to collect and pay for your order.
Stay safe and well
With very best wishes
Graeme Mason Practice Manager

To this end we have developed a warm, inviting place filled with highly experienced staff, who have been chosen because of their great compassion and dedication.
“Henlow Vets have quite simply been fantastic, my cats are treated as if they are their own and the practice feels so friendly and warm. They are incredibly caring and I have been seen when I have been worried, I was constantly reassured and nothing is too much trouble. My 4 Siamese boys have blossomed under their care I feel very much part of the Henlow Vets family. Thank you all for everything you have done to support me and the boys through the last few months. AMAZING!”

“Thanks to all the wonderful treatment from Henlow Vets, this week Cookie has been enjoying short walks around Northumberland castles, along beaches, and at Hadrian’s Wall. Our thanks to the whole team!”
Blake Stephenson and Cookie
I joined Henlow vets when they first opened and I can say that they have always been very accommodating over the years. But Sunday morning Anna and her team were amazing, they responded with speed to my sos, Tula got the very best of care and the delivery of her 6 pups. They are a wonderful group of people and I can only recommend them as this is a veterinary surgery which really cares about the animals and there owners. Keep up the good work especially in these tough times. Hannah
